Service Opportunities

Northridge Community Church and the Salvation Army offer many opportunities to serve God and our communities. This page describes just a few ways you can help. For more information, download our Volunteer Registration Form or contact us. Contact information is here or at the bottom of this page.

Northridge Scouting

scout archeryWednesday evenings at 6:30 PM, girls and boys from 8 to 14 meet with leaders from our church to participate in a scouting program. While they are having fun, they are also building self confidence, learning leadership skills and developing respect for each other, the environment, their community and their world.

Mercy Street

kids playing silhouetteMonday mornings from 10:30 AM to Noon, Northridge Community Church opens its doors to Youth from Newmarket High School. A well attended drop-in program that offers a nutritious meal, sports, games and a listening ear as needed.

ESL Conversation Café

men talkingWednesday evenings from 7:30 to 8:30 PM, members of the church provide an opportunity for anyone, from any nationality, to come together to practice their language skills and build their self-confidence in speaking English. Participants not only practice their conversation skills but become part of a support network.

Seminars or Courses

Northridge Community Church provides opportunities for community members who are struggling with life issues to come together and develop strategies for coping with the challenges that face them. Courses currently offered include Marriage Enrichment, Parenting, Financial Planning, Anger Management, Grief Support etc. A nominal fee is sometimes charged for course materials. Courses are scheduled as the need arises.

In serving the communities of Newmarket and Aurora and East Gwillimbury, The Salvation Army helps people through various programs from food bank services, clothing and furniture assistance, counselling for men, women, and youth, to help for seniors, people seeking shelter, summer camps for youth, emergency disaster relief and much more.
