What does Northridge have for my family?
Northridge offers a warm, caring, family-friendly environment for both worship and church activities. During our family worship experience, there is something for everyone. We have three different childrens’ programs for age groups ranging from newborn to 12 years of age, that all run concurrently with the worship service. There are bible studies and small groups for parents, and there are a multitude of programs throughout the week that are geared to all the age groups. Youth groups, Youth Arts (band, drama and dance) and Scouts, are just a few that are available on a regular basis.
What is coming to church like?
Northridge’s doors are open to both believers and non-believers. Here you have a chance to worship in a relaxed contemporary atmosphere. Following your initial greeting, a cup of freshly brewed free trade coffee awaits. Very often the pastors, Brian and Glenda, mingle with the congregation before the service starts, and one of them will probably greet and welcome you. Music is an important part of preparing our hearts for worship and our “worship team” helps guide our worship time together. The message is delivered in a conversational style; it is always relevant to everyday life issues everyone faces. You come away feeling uplifted and prepared to take on the challenges for the coming week.
What is The Salvation Army?
The Salvation Army is an international Christian church that had its origins in England in the 1800’s. It’s messages were based on the Bible. The original founder, William Booth, was first associated with the Methodist ministry for 13 years but he was soon drawn to the “unchurched masses” of Britain’s cities. He branched out and began his own evangelistic ministry that served people who were far from God. Quite often, they needed their physical needs met before their spiritual needs could be addressed. Eventually this ministry spread to Canada (in 1882) and now it meets needs in many third world countries. The Salvation Army is known for its intent to blend Christian evangelism and social services. Its ministry is motivated by love for God and the needs of humanity.
How can I get involved in my community through The Salvation Army?
The Salvation Army could not do all that it does, without the help of the many volunteers throughout Newmarket, Aurora, East Gwillimbury and the surrounding communities who give their time and talents to make a difference in the lives of others.

I need somebody to help me pray. What do I do?
Our Heavenly Father wants you to know that He is always there for you. He walks alongside you and yearns for a relationship with you. You need only call on Him in a quiet, private setting and he will listen. He knows your heart and your needs even before you tell Him, but He desires close communication with you. When you pray, pray through Jesus Christ, who will connect you to God. When God responds, it will be in His time and His answer may not be the one you expect, but rest assured, His plan for your life is the best one for you. He can take whatever happens in your life and turn it into good, if only you believe in Him and have faith in His ability to work in your life.

I need somebody to talk to. Where do I begin?
At Northridge giving care is a core value and a passion. Some congregation members have been trained in pastoral care and reach out to those in the community who want a visit either at home or in hospital. Members of the team provide pastoral support in the event of serious illness, emergencies or other times of need.
