The Northridge Story
|
The Salvation Army has been present in Central York Region for 125 years. In 2002 our name was changed from The Salvation Army Newmarket Corps to Northridge Community Church of the Salvation Army to imbue better understanding that we are part of the Christian Evangelical Church. The name and methods may have changed but the message and mission have remained the same - `To know Christ better and to make Him better known.’ The desire of the leadership team is to create an environment that will minister to our community with authenticity and greater relevancy. Therefore we have developed a more contemporary musical expression, a conversational teaching style, and an informal atmosphere. Our traditional uniform presence has shifted to purposeful uniform wearing, and a more informal dress for worship on Sundays. |
